I just received an email that said I should verify my gmail account. It was sent from an emailadress of dataconfmation.accnt@gmail.com with username: Gmaildata@googlemail.com
This email seems to be a phishing attack – they ask for your gmail password! Do not reply to it!. It looks like this:

This verification updates is mandatory for all our Users. It was sent from the Google mail server to verify and confirm your identity on the new database system. There has been several multiple logon attempts mismatch on your Gmail Account from an undisclosed IP/Computer location. You are requested to verify your membership details below correctly with Gmail Account Registration.

I looked at the original mail header and found it was sent from this IP adress 173.201.193.58 this IP adress seems to belong to GoDaddy.com which to my knowledge has nothing to do with Googles servers.
